2013 OBCL Epilepsy Scholarship Awards

About the Award

The 2013 OBCL Epilepsy Scholarship Awards are proud to offer up to five $1000 scholarships to students across Ontario who are living with epilepsy. Students have the opportunity to apply for awards in the following categories: Continuing Studies Award, Present's Award of Distinction, as well as the OBCL General Scholarship Awards.

Eligibility Criteria

The OBCL Epilepsy Scholarships are open to all Ontario students who meet the following criteria:

• Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents
• Currently under an Ontario physician's care for epilepsy.
• Between the ages of 16 to 29 years.

Scholarships in the amount of $1000.00 will be awarded to successful applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and submit all required documents no later than May 1st, 2013.

Description of Awards

OBCL General Awards
Awarded to students for the transitional year from high school to college or university.

Continuing Studies Award

Specifically awarded to students pursuing graduate school.

President's Award of Distinction

Awarded to an exceptional student who has confronted and overcome remarkable barriers in their academic and personal lives due to their epilepsy. These barriers have likely had an impact on their ability to achieve academic success and in some cases stood in the way of their academic learning. We invite those who have encountered challenges meeting grade requirements in school to share how they dealt with these obstacles and continued their academic studies.
